Methodox Virtual Keyboard

Privacy Policy

For the Methodox Virtual Keyboard Android application (io.methodox.virtualkeyboard.mobile) · Last updated 6 September 2026

Methodox Virtual Keyboard does not collect, store, or share any information at all. It requests no Android permissions — not even internet access — so it cannot send anything anywhere, even in principle. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data-collection SDKs. Everything you play happens on your device and stays there.

What the app is

Methodox Virtual Keyboard is a touch instrument: two octaves of piano keys and eight drum pads on a phone screen, held in landscape. Sound is synthesized on your device in real time from a General MIDI SoundFont that is bundled inside the app package. There is no server component and no online service behind it.

Information we collect

None. The app has no mechanism to collect anything. Specifically, it does not collect, generate, or transmit:

Permissions

The app declares no Android permissions whatsoever. Its AndroidManifest.xml contains not a single <uses-permission> entry. Android therefore grants it nothing beyond the ability to draw on screen and play sound through the device's own output, neither of which requires a permission.

Two consequences are worth stating outright:

Data stored on your device

Nothing. The app writes no settings, no saved state, no session history, no recordings, and no cache. The only file it ever reads is its own bundled SoundFont, which is part of the installed app package and is loaded into memory when the app starts.

Because nothing is written, there is nothing to clear and nothing left behind: uninstalling the app removes it completely.

Third parties

There are none. No advertising network, no analytics provider, no crash-reporting service, no cloud backend, and no third-party SDK that collects data is present in the app. No information about you is shared or sold, because none is ever obtained.

Children

Methodox Virtual Keyboard is a musical instrument and is suitable for players of any age, including children. It collects no information from anyone, and therefore collects none from children. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no links out to other services, and no way to communicate with anyone through the app.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if a future version were to request a permission it does not request today — this page will be updated and the date above revised before that change ships. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
